Women in Energy Internship Program 2025

The Women in Energy Internship Program offers a unique opportunity for women students to develop expertise in the dynamic field of renewable energy development. Through this immersive 8-10 week summer program, you'll gain valuable hands-on experience working on real-world projects across North Carolina and the East Coast.

You'll collaborate with industry professionals to navigate the complex landscape of project permitting, develop effective community engagement strategies, and create compelling communications that drive support for renewable energy initiatives. This program is specifically designed to empower women to excel in public affairs roles within the renewable energy sector—an area where women have been traditionally underrepresented.

Under the guidance of experienced mentors from Women in Energy Network Carolinas, Recall Strategies, and Community Science Communications, you'll build a professional network while developing transferable skills in stakeholder management, regulatory processes, and strategic communications. By the end of the program, you'll have produced tangible deliverables including engagement strategies and communications toolkits that will strengthen your portfolio and prepare you for a successful career in renewable energy.
